Music National Policy in Kenya

When I was searching for night event to attend in Nairobi, my friend, Altoum, suggested to visit Goethe Institute and attend event on Kenya’s Music policy.. on our way, we passed the French institute, it is nice building with open spaces for working.

Unfortunately, we arrived at discussion time and couldn’t  hear speakers’ interventions.

The debate was serious specially when they raised the issue of intellectual property and the difference between government and musicians perspectives.

what impressed me in this event are the number of attendees, all seats almost occupied and the topic itself… to hold a public event to discuss music policy ..here in Cairo, I think it is an elitist topic that won’t attract the public.

that’s, let me to add Music Policy in Africa on my research list.
